PhotoQt for Linux Mint 19.1 and newer can be installed by adding the following PPA to your system:
Open a terminal and type the following one line at a time (don't include the dollar symbol):
$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:lumas/photoqt
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install photoqt
Note: Ubuntu (and in turn Linux Mint) ships with older versions of Qt and other libraries. The Flatpak package is a recommended alternative, offering support for a wider range of image formats and a more complete set of features.
